Therapy Approach
I believe therapy offers a profound opportunity for growth and change. I'll be curious about your experience, and we'll pay attention to what feels most important to you as we talk together about your thoughts and feelings. Through this process you'll gain a deeper understanding of yourself. You'll also come to better know your own strengths and resiliency. I am warm, thoughtful, and engaging in my approach and believe that a safe and supportive therapy relationship is essential in easing feelings of discomfort that normally accompany change.
I help people who feel anxious, hopeless, or stuck and those encountering difficult life transitions. Painful experiences can be overwhelming and interfere with achieving goals. I'll help you heal old wounds that have caused residual pain so that you can gain the confidence to live more fully and freely.
Experience
I graduated with my masters degree in Mental Health Counseling From Argosy University Seattle in 2006. I have worked for 12 years at a mental health agency that provides counseling services to children, teens and adults. I gained experience providing therapy to all age demographics and their families. I specialize in providing treatment for trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, social anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem/worth and family issues.
My clinical approach is eclectic and includes a number of different therapy models including interpersonal, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy, client-centered, motivational interviewing, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based therapy. I respect individual differences and appreciate the influence of cultural environment on one's identity and experiences.
